Usage[edit]
This template is used in conjunction with m:Special:UrlShortener, which creates short urls that can redirect to any page hosted by the Wikimedia Foundation.
Example[edit]
Assume the url https://w.wiki/tR redirects to Template:Short URL/doc. Now {{short URL|tR}} creates tR, which links to the same place: here, the template's documentation page (not the template page where you likely are viewing the documentation from)
A second, optional parameter can be included to specify the display text; otherwise, it defaults to the redirect's code, in this case tR. Example:
{{short URL|tR|documentation}}
creates
