Summary[edit]

Description
English: Wikimedia Data Analyst Erik Zachte recently unveiled a new interactive visualization showing the global distribution of edits for various language editions of Wikipedia.

This first version allows users to see where edits are coming from for a given day. Right now, the day is fixed but fairly recent.

See the interactive animation at http://stats.wikimedia.org/​wikimedia/​animations/​requests/​ , where you can control the parameters of this interactive visualization by using keyboard shortcuts available in a "Help" menu.

This video is also available on Vimeo at http://vimeo.com/24020104. Anyone who thinks they can remake this video in higher quality, please do so and upload a new version on top of this one.
